Photo Finish: Wedding Photos Every Newlywed Couple Needs
September 13, 2015
You only get one shot at your wedding day – and that means one shot at the photos. Although trends and poses go in and out of fashion there are some standard shots that should be in every brides wedding album.
A popular photo at the moment is a shot of the wedding dress hanging on the door. It’s simple but beautiful.
Additionally a photo of the groom getting ready, perhaps having his corsage fastened or of the bride having her hair and makeup done. Getting ready forms a big part of the fun, and the memories of these final few hours should be cherished and cemented in photo form.
A close up of the rings is a must-have memory! Symbolising your union and showing the precious detailing forms a great shot.
Additionally the wedding shoes often become eclipsed as the wedding dress and morning suit take prominence. A cute and quirky image – lots of brides choose to adorn their wedding shoes with their the date of their marriage or “I Do” on the sole.
The bride and groom (more often the bride!) often agonise for hours over the choice and colour scheme of flowers – so be sure to get lots of photos! There’s the bridal bouquet, the bridesmaid’s bouquets, groom and groomsmen’s boutonnieres plus any flowers that decorate the aisle and wedding reception. Flowers can also be pricey too – so you need to preserve their precious memory!
Of course you need pictures of all the people to remind you who was in attendance – the day can often fly by in a blur fogging up memories of even the most intimate occasions. So the bride and groom, families, children, bridesmaids, groomsman, pets (it happens) and finally friends are all necessary pictures to have.
Speeches are important to grab a shot of (and at sometimes!). Another precious photo is the walk down the aisle and the giving away by the Father to the Groom. Emotions fly high at this point and it’s a beautiful and special moment to capture.
Star Wars Brilliance
And finally, to go off-topic a little if you’ve ever been curious as to just what photo shop can accomplish, you need to watch this incredible video! One couple asked their photographer to manipulate one of their wedding images in to a Star Wars theme and the process she went through over 12 hours which is condensed in to the 3 minutes you see here is quite something. The delicate detail is immense and the finished result superb. Watch the video and see the photo in this article:
