Spring When You’re Winning: Top Trends for Spring Weddings

We love spring! Not only do the days get longer and the nights get shorter, but the leaves and flowers start showing their faces again.  For couples who have chosen to have a spring wedding, there is a wealth of trends worth incorporating into your big day, and we’ve got all the info!  Read on to find out how to make your spring wedding truly breath-taking.

Pretty Spring Colours

As soon as spring begins, the dark reds and blues synonymous with winter weddings take a back seat in favour of something a little brighter.  Pastel colours are a huge trend for spring weddings because they are delicate, feminine and elegant.  Traditionally, blushed pink or lilac are perfect for spring, particularly as they are reminiscent of spring’s blooming snowdrops, a sure sign that winter is well behind us.

One colour trend that has been seen just about everywhere lately is lemon sorbet yellow.  This colour is less traditional than other pastel shades but lacks the harshness of a brighter, more summery yellow.  Not only can you find tons of flowers that match a yellow theme, but sorbet yellow suits many skin shades and body shapes so is great inspiration for bridesmaids dresses or colour accents on the groom and groomsmen’s suits.

Blooming Gorgeous Spring Flowers

Spring is a time for new beginnings and a bright optimism and the world around us feels exactly the same way!  Not only does the flora come back to life, but there is also a seasonal abundance of stunning spring flowers.  Peonies, sweet peas, poppies and tulips are all delicate spring flowers that come in an array of colours so you can be sure that they will match your décor and colour scheme.

In terms of bouquet style, spring is a time of lavish abundance and, with that in mind, perhaps a mish mash of wild flowers would be a great way to throw yourself in to the season.  Try mixing different colours and flowers to creat a truly eclectic bouquet, or maybe try and team a different spring flower to each of your bridesmaids to encapsulate their personalities and make it a bit more special.

Indoor or Outdoor?

Although spring time is a time of sunny mornings and green trees, it can take a little while for our surroundings to catch up to the mood.  It might be tempting to try an outdoor wedding as the days get warmer and brighter, however a back up plan is almost always the best way to go.  We love the idea of a village fete themed wedding, with the option of going into a marquee.  The theme can be accentuated with funfair rides for both kids and adults, a cupcake and tombola table and streams of brightly-coloured ribbon decorating the area.

If you are going to go for an outdoor wedding, it is best to ensure you have a contingency plan should the heavens open on your big day.  Buy umbrellas in spring colours that match your colour scheme and hang them around the venue so if an April shower decides to make an appearance, your guests can grab a brolly and carry on enjoying the day.  You could even buy branded brollies with Mr and Mrs on them, making a useful and memorable wedding favour for your guests.

Spring makes the world feel brand new, so what better season is there to celebrate starting a brand new life together?  Why not get in touch if you are getting married this spring and let us know which trends you love.
