Above average rainfall expected for the next 7 days
June 13, 2016
Although some regions have seen some beautiful sunshine in the last few weeks, the downpours elsewhere are expected to continue and spread through Britain in the following week.
From the beginning of this week the rainfall will be above average for an expected 7 days. This will mostly be affecting eastern and northern regions of Britain, just missing Scotland. The most affected areas are predicted to be North Wales, North-west England and Northern Ireland.
Temperatures should also remain above average, so rather than layering up with waterproofs, umbrellas are certainly the best way to go.
Forecasters say that a strong jet stream from the Atlantic is to blame for the unusual weather patterns. However, they remain hopeful still that this could be the hottest summer we’ve seen in the last few years.
The Southeast of England, however, is set to remain fairly dry all the way through to the beginning of July, although this weather is also expected to be a little unsettled, with occasional light rain showers amongst the sunshine.
