Although some popular holiday destinations are sumptuously sunny all year round, there are still rainy seasons, peak seasons, British school holidays and winter seasons to contend with. We’ve got 10 top honeymoon destinations below and the best time of year to visit so you can coincide with your wedding.
1. The Maldives
The summer season is best for the Maldives which falls on the months of December to April.
2. Bora Bora
If your wallet is particularly full you can make the trip to breathtaking (and pricey) Bora Bora renowned for its honeymoon prowess! Between November and April are the most popular months.
3. French Alps
If winter wrap ups and skiing is your bag, then the French Alps can be a wonderfully romantic honeymoon destination. Late November to April are the most popular months for skiing.
4. New Zealand
New Zealand is a wonderful place for adventurers with endless beauty and opportunity for sports. As the weather is unpredictable, the summer months of December to February are often recommended.
5. Mauritius
Between May and December are the cooler months for this idyllic island and the recommended time to visit.
6. New York
The weather can be so wonderfully weird in New York – from freezing days spent shopping to warm weather wonderings around Manhattan – so whatever time you choose you’ll be guaranteed to have an amazing time.
7. London
There’s much to be said for a staycation and our capital can offer endless fun for newlyweds. Spring and Summer months are better here – although risk of rain as we all know is never far away.
8. Australia
Between November and March is the best time to visit this wonderful place. The seasons are totally reversed, so these months prove a bit cooler for us Brits used to the cold.
9. South America
As it’s such a vast continent it has great spots all year round. But if you’re in the mood for adventure and some animal fun in the Galapagos, June is a cooler and nicer month to visit.
10. Las Vegas
If you’re rolling your elopement and honeymoon all into one neat little package with an epic trip to sin city, you’ll want to avoid the summer months. February through to April should bring you slightly cooler climes.
