Top Tips For The Best Golf Game!

Any avid golfer will know that the game is really just a few shots: the drive, the approach, a test from the sand and bunker and a couple of putts. For a lot of players, it's not uncommon that at least of these shots goes a little awry on each hold, and there goes your chance at getting par.

However, it turns out that there are some pretty easy hacks that can correct the most common missteps of even the biggest weekend hackers. So if you want to come out on top on your next adventure to the course.

1 - Find The Fairway

When you step up to tee off, firstly line up your feet then slide your back foot a few inches. This will buy you more turn in your backswing and will allow the club to come inside in the downswing. If doing this isn't enough to straighten out your ball, account for the curve. If you realise that your ball curves a certain way in every single shot, you shouldn't be trying to play down the middle. For example, if your ball consistently hooks right, play up the left edge of the fairway.

2 - Shoot To The Green

So, you might not be as strong as you think you are. A lot of guys simply need more club when they hit an iron from the fairway. Besides overestimating your strength you are probably not hitting the ball square in every shot, this reduces the impact which is why most golfers usually undershoot the green. This is where you need to estimate what iron you need, then grab the iron one number lower and when you line up to hit the ball, move your head just a couple of inches forward of the ball.

3 - Get Out Of The Rough

Occasionally you might find yourself in the weeds, no one wants to be there but hey, it happens. In order to get out of this situation make sure you stand so that the ball is back a couple of inches compared to your normal stance. Moving the ball back helps you hit it at a much steeper angle, which you will need to get out of tall grass.

4 - Emerge From The Sand

Getting stuck in the sand is the best way to completely torpedo your score. In order to get out of the bunker a lot of people try swings that involve their wrists, however, this stuff you should leave to the pros.

If that happens to you, opt for something more predictable. Line up in the middle of the ball, put most of your weight on your forward leg. Keep your wrists straight and swing the club to hip level. This is a trusted way that gets amateurs out of the sand nearly every time.

5 - Sink More Putts

You average weekend hacker will show up a few minutes before his tee-off time and will spend those waiting minutes working on his short game...Rookie Error!

You should be working hard on your long putts. On the course, most of the time your first putt is far from the hole and you probably never practice putting long. Ig your long putt is bad and the ball ends up 5 or 6 feet away from the hole, it’s a lot easier to miss that second putt. So work on and practice long-distance putts in order to score the winning game.

So, there you have it, some of the best tricks in order to achieve the best game of golf. Always remember to carry the right equipment with you for your next game, including a Golf Umbrella, so even the rain doesn't get in the way of your winning game.
