The best places in the UK to celebrate the New Year

Whilst many are getting excited for Christmas Day, and we don’t blame them, we are looking forward to celebrating New Year with a bang! If you’re yet to plan what you’re doing to see in the start of the New Year, and feeling a little panicked about what you are going to do, we have decided to look at the best places to book a last-minute trip, where you are guaranteed to have a fantastic celebration:

Edinburgh

If you want to bring the New Year in with style, look no further than Edinburgh. Thousands will flock to this wonderful city to celebrate the start of the New Year, despite the chillier weather experienced during this time of the year. If you are looking to head to Edinburgh this year, make sure to wrap up warm! You can expect music and fireworks, as well as an array of arts, events and entertainment.

Cardiff

Known as ‘Calennig’, meaning the ‘first day of the month’ New Year in the Welsh capital city brings a fun and energetic vibrancy to the celebrations. A family friendly event, that marks the New Year in with a great firework display.

St Ives

One of the most beautiful port towns in Cornwall, St Ives truly comes to life on this special night. Parades of dressed locals and samba bands add to the lively vibe whilst dancing along the streets that meander through the town.

The friendly locals, coupled with the happy tourists, create a welcoming vibe in this Cornish paradise. When the clock strikes 12, head to the beach to watch the breath-taking firework display that bring the night sky to life, with out of this world fireworks.

Looe

Cornwall features on our list again, this time with the little fishing village of Looe that welcomes visitors from far and wide to join in with their festivities. Dress up in your best fancy dress and head out to the streets to party with the locals. Gather at the beach to watch the fireworks light up the night sky. Make sure to eat beforehand at one of the little seafood restaurants, as the celebrations can last long into the morning,

With rainy weather looking to shower across most of the UK on New Years Eve, make sure to take a little black umbrella, that will match any outfit choice, whilst protecting you as you watch the firework displays.

All of us at Jolly Brolly would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
