Looking like a million dollars on your big day is important if you want to feel confident and happy being the centre of attention. From the jewelry to the dress, everything should tie together seamlessly to create a bridal look that perfectly speaks to your personality. Here we take a look at a few of the most popular bridal hairstyles and how to achieve them by yourself.

The Hollywood Look

This glamorous look comes straight out of the 40s, when movie starlets inspired the fashion of the era. Sleek and sophisticated, perfect Hollywood waves are a great way to frame your face and create a look of vintage style. This look is great for those who have vintage dresses, particularly strapless, fitted fishtail dresses, reminscent of 40s style. To achieve this look, take the following steps:
1. Separate hair diagonally then pull the left section over the right so it falls over one shoulder.
2. Use a curling iron to horizontally curl hair from the bottom to the top. Repeat this in the same direction for rest of hair.
3. Brush out curls so they are less defined then find each separate wave. Clip these waves in place then finish with a holding spray.
4. Remove clips to reveal stunning waves.

The Waterfall Braid

For brides who are a little bit Boho and who want something chic yet comfortable, the waterfall braid could be a great option. The look is pretty and ladylike whilst still being messy-chic, with a braid crossing the back of the head horizontally and waves cascading down the back. It is a gorgeous style for casual beach weddings and would look equally beautiful with a veil. To get the surfer chic look, you need to:
1. Loosely curl the hair to get a beachy wave look, then take side section of hair (from the forehead to just above the ear) and braid it neatly. Repeat this on other side.
2. Tease out the braid so it is wider and a little messier but do not lose the shape of the braid. Repeat this on the other side.
3. Take one braid and pull it across the back of your head horizontally, clipping in place with a curby grip. Take the braid on the other side and repeat this so one braid is resting on top of the other horizontally.
4. Hold in place with hair spray and tousle the curls to create boost and volume. Your Boho chic look is complete!

The Heart Bun

Some brides wear their hearts on their sleeves and some wear them on their heads! The heart bun is a more intricate and eye-catching choice than the others on our list and is a style that goes perfectly with a variety of looks and themes. Whether you want to add some excitement to shorter hair or wear a heart bun to add volume to long and flat hair, the heart bun is a pretty and feminine choice. If you would like this look, take these steps:
1. Take the two front sections of your hair and pull back; tie into bunches at the back of your head.
2. Tightly twist one of the bunches then wrap as if you are creating a bun. Stop when you get halfway and clip into place.
3. Clip into place until you have the shape of half a heart, then repeat these steps using the bunch on the other side.
4. Keeping as symmetrical as possible, clip the other half in place until you have created a full heart shape. Make sure all clips are secure then spray in place.
